20 YEARS of GROWING TOGETHER
In July of 2019, we celebrated our 20th anniversary as a community foundation. Held at the Beech Creek Botanical Gardens, over 120 donors and community members gathered to raise a glass to those who have worked to bring so many projects to fruition over the past 20 years.
1999
Our Creation
Special Donor: Robert T. White established Charitable Lead Trust.
2002
Since 2002, $514,000 given in Financial assistance has been awarded to the Alliance Career Center for adult training.
2004
GAF hired First Director, Ernie Sheetz.
Since the inception of One Book One Community, GAF has provided 5,250 books to area high school students.
2005
GAF awarded Habitat for Humanity $10,000 to purchase 13 city lots for future housing.
The Lloyd and June Carlile Scholarship was established.
2007
$25,000 Challenge Grant to build Skateboard Park.
ECEA brings SPARK to Alliance with $200,000 Sisters of Charity Grant.
2010
$40,000 Grant to Alliance Community Pantry to purchase building to create a “choice pantry”.
2011
Art Stuckey $1,000,000 endowment to Stuckey Interfaith Child Development Center.
2012
$485,000 Grant for YMCA renovation and relocation of the Stuckey Interfaith Center.
2013
Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter to remodel kitchen $25,000.
2015
$30,000 matching grant for Lights and Sound for Carnation City Players 2015.
$200,000 Grant to relocate the R.T. White School of Practical Nursing.
$100,000 to Marlington for STEM Labs Renovation.
2017
GAF reopens former Alliance Neighborhood Center.
Beatrice L. Miller Foundation fund created with GAF.
$72,000 to Beech Creek for land acquisition, Amazing Garden Science Program, Lamborn Museum and Pavilion.
2019
Jack and Madge Peters endow Early Childhood Education Alliance.
